The Perfect Day
Ok, it has been just about a perfect day. I had an insane list of "to-do's" for today and got started on them bright and early. I took Brodie to soccer camp at 8. I stopped to get gas and to take the van thru the carwash. While in the carwash, my cell phone rang. It was the surgical coordinator for Bethany's ENT. Evidently they just figured out her age, after 2 months, and had to change the location and date of her tonsillectomy. It is now on 8/14, the Monday after we get back from the beach and a much better day for our family. That was cool. I then took the girls out to breakfast and let them play in the playspace at Chick-Fil-A, our favorite restaurant. The only painful part so far in my day is the young lady at the table behind me who couldn't say more than 3 words with adding "like" or "you know". It was like annoying, you know? Anyway, after the play time, I went back to soccer camp and picked up Brodie to take him to the orthodontist. When that was finally done, we went back to the soccer field, only to discover that they had left. Not a bad thing, as I still had many errands to run. So, we are headed to Dick's for cleats when Bethany falls asleep. Change 2 to plan B...let's go home and let her get her nap. We'll go back out later. As I lay her in the bed, the phone starts ringing. I dash to get it and of all people it is Anna Nicolaisen, the travel coordinator from AWAA, our adoption agency. This is THE CALL we have been waiting for!!!! We have travel permission to go get Timothy, with a mostly firm date of departure of 8/24. Praise God! All of the dates are working together. We can go to the beach, have Bethany's surgery, give 10 days of recovery for Bethany and depart for China. Charlie will be back on Labor Day weekend, in time to rest and get the Brodie and Emily to school on 9/5. All we will miss is orientation night and one soccer game. Not too bad! My sweet husband witnessed me dancing across the yard and skipping in the kitchen. Poor man, it was not a pretty sight.
